Growing up in rural Missouri, Hartoin got to visit her grandmother in St. Louis, where she was fascinated by the large houses – each one unique with a story of its own. As an adult, she joined the Air Force to get the life experience. After meeting her husband, she got to travel the world and settled in Colorado. She lives there with her family and several animals.
